Definitely some weird stuff going on with Peacock on NOW!
It's been removed from Sky Q aswell , I wouldn't take any notice of expiry dates.
House Is one ot the others in process of being removed from Sky and Now , most of episodes have gone from both.
While it might return under the Sky brand, Peacock appears to be in process of being discontinued.
Don’t think it’s being discontinued. It is clear they are trying to reorganise it completely.
Looks like it’s got zero films on it now and only TV shows.
My guess is that it might be used for Peacock shows itself. Or actually use it for NBC shows that currently isn’t on Sky channels.
Yes, I was also in the middle of watching Heroes and it disappeared for me too. I have just spoken to an advisor and they said that the Peacock contract was renegotiated on the 1st January 2023 and consequently some Peacock-branded content will be removed from NOW. Unfortunately, Heroes was included and got removed.
FYI, this is the full list of content that I got from the advisor of content going/gone:
- Here is the link on Peacock content being removed from our platform:- HOUSE HEROES MONK PSYCH BATES MOTEL DOWNTON ABBEY COLUMBO BATTLESTAR GALACTICA JOE VS CAROLE GIRLS5EVA SUPERSTORE FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS ('06) KILLER AFFAIR BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (2003) DUNCANVILLE MACGRUBER SAVED BY THE BELL ('20) RUTHERFORD FALLS FIVE BEDROOMS THE GIRL IN THE WOODS PUNKY BREWSTER ('21)
So... what's happening with Peacock? Is that content accessible elsewhere, is Peacock it's own thing in the UK...?
I was very far into Heroes, renewed despite the increase of monthly as I was near the end, and come back from the holiday to realise it was gone >_<
I kinda feel that it might just be more convenient to rent/get boxsets via amazon at this point.
Personally I’m not even sure that Comcast know what they are doing with Peacock in the Sky territories. Since launch its been a bit of a joke with the majority of content being duplicated from other Sky channels or Hayu.
Maybe the “renewal” of the contract is to change the channel to Peacock originals. Which won’t be very much.
That being said there is so much content that it should pick up with is not available anywhere like you mentioned with Heroes, there is also the Law & Order and Law & Order SUV shows, plus all previous seasons of Chicago. Those 3 shows Sky has shown zero indication of putting them up in the last 2 years.
It begs the real question what is the purpose of Peacock here?
So much potential and until we know for sure, our assumption as customers is that it might just fade into the abyss.
I think 5USA have repeat rights to Law and Order* and Law and Order SVU unlike newer Law and Order Organized Crime where Sky have Pay and Free To Air rights
Sky have also updated the poster to season 22...
Now have also confirmed Bel Air season 2 won't be on Peacock next month

@Martin_14
Well to contradict NOW staff completely Sky viewer relations replied to me saying that Bel-Air season 2 will be coming to Peacock. Just no confirmed date.
Seriously you couldn’t make it up 🤣
I don’t find Sky Viewing relations particularly helpful, it's often stock responses
Seems like the tweet from NOW staff was incorrect according to Sky in this article.

No, I had a look, but Peacock is not it's own service in the UK. The website for peacock still says to get Peacock in the UK via Sky and Now.
I looked at the cost of getting any of the series that I missed via Amazon. But once again, Amazon was more expensive than getting used DVDs off ebay. I am starting to build a collection of DVDs of various shows that expired whilst I was watching them on Now! DVDs are making a comeback for me - no one can remove the content from me and I can truly watch it when I like (many years from now if I wish, and I am doing just that with some of my DVD sets - finishing them off!).
Yes that's a good shout. I'm thinking to get stuff from Amazon Video just because of convenience, and a whole season of something costs basically the same as a month of subscription and overall less than what costs me to watch a boxset as long as Heroes (3-4-X months of sub).
From that point of view, it would still be cheaper. And would be my first option because I have the power of chosing what I want, when I want, not having the problem of storage* or getting rid of the DVDs after, and not creating delivery traffic.
But yeah, otherwise it is definitely the cheapest way to get something at least quite old. Surely one would find this stuff in open markets/carboot sales... I just don't go to those places.
I used to have a collection of DVDs before moving and I stopped buying pretty much because of the storage problem.
If NOW hadn't offered me a discounted rate to not cancel, and then increased at a discounted rate instead of jumping to full price, I would have definitely cancelled like 6 months ago until next House of the Dragon/Billions comes out
Next season of Billions will be on Paramount+ only. Not Sky Atlantic.
All new seasons of Showtime content are exclusive to Paramount+. When the content expires on Sky, it will not return as far as I understand.
A right Peacockup all round 😢
Heroes is added to ITVX in May
