@Scandal came from the ABC network, which is part of the Disney empire, and Disney have terminated all their arrangements with other broadcasters, preparatory to launching their own service in the Autumn, for which they will require all their own content back.
The termination does seem to have been rather precipitate, though. Not much, if any, notice that it was going to happen.
Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
