Hiya
I have just bought a sky cinema pass from NOW TV which asked me to download the sky cinema player. I did that but I keep getting an error message, even after restarting my laptop
"User does not have the necessary role to perform this action. Error code: OVP_00005"
I have the latest windows 10 and google chrome installed.
Any ideas please? I only bought it to watch the Oscars tonight.
Thanks in advance

Hi @Anonymous User
Here's the link to the nowtv app from the Microsoft Store, try this first before IE11 with Silverlight.
If you get a message saying that you have reached your maximum device limit when trying to use the nowtv app below (post back on here and I will tell you how to fix it).

Hi @Anonymous User
I can't help with the error code sorry, if you desperate to watch the Oscars and you are using a Windows 10 PC, Laptop or Tablet have you tried the dedicated NowTV Windows App from the Microsoft Store which is different to the nowtv player app you are trying to use or if that doesn't work try IE11 with Silverlight.
More info here.

Hi again Schnapps
OMG! It has worked. Apologies for the late reply but I was busy doing other things until now.
Thank you again for all your help. I downloaded the Microsoft app you sent via the link (don't know why I was "instructed" before to download the sky cinema player app....not by a human but the links I followed).
It sounds laughable but watching tonight's Oscars is the highlight of my TV year (I don't watch much TV at all), so thanks again for making my day, hey year!
Cheers

Hi @Anonymous User
Glad it worked and you managed to watch the Oscars live ceremony.
If you only either started a free cinema trial or purchased a cinema pass purely for watching the 2018 Oscars, then make sure you cancel your cinema pass before the next due payment date, otherwise the pass will keep auto renewing each month at a charge of £9.99 until you cancel.

I have signed up for the 14 day trial as I thought I would be able to view the Oscars ceremony 2018 live. Can't find a link to it. Advice please. Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous User
The Oscars live ceremony doesn't start until early hours of tomorrow morning (see full time schedule in link below).
https://community.nowtv.com/t5/Cinema/Oscars-2018-coverage/td-p/457620
What nowtv playback device are you using, apart from the Youview box App, the Oscars will be shown under Cinema, watch live TV channels > Sky Oscars live channel.

I have a free cinema pass. Just wondering how to get onto view the show after I sign in. Do I just click into a link thatI assume will appear nearer the time of transmission ?
