Sony movie channel / Sky cinema

Anyone else notice that half the moves on sky cinema are the same ones you can watch for free on the Sony Movie channel with Freeview?
The content on Sky Cinema has been awful recently, Netflix and Prime seem to have a better selection of movies and sky just seem to keep removing and then adding the same stuff again.
Being able to watch half the content for free on standard TV makes the service even worse.

Hi @Anonymous User,

Thanks for getting in touch!

This is quite a claim, and we feel we have some of the best movies around, so some are stats below. What's shown on a live freeview channel may well be quite different to what's available on demand from a streaming service.

A quick check of Sony's full catalogue (853) vs Sky Cinema (1368) shows a grand total of 96 shared movies, or 7%. This currently includes some classics like The Blues Brothers, Hook, A Few Good Men and Moneyball, which I feel would improve any offering. 🙂

We of course have many more recent big hitters, such as Guardians of the Galaxy 2, The Lego Batman Movie, Kong: Skull Island, John Wick 2, Hidden Figures and Logan. Plus our movies can be watched on demand, any time you like!

Is there anything specifically you're looking for? We may be able to recommend something similar, or let you know if it's coming to the service.

Thanks,

Jason
