I watched Deadpool last night on Bluray and thoroughly enjoyed the movie from start to finish and it was refreshing to see a Superhero movie with a different "spin to it". Smiley Happy

With this being a 20TH Century Fox Studio movie and with the tie up with Sky, i would imagine this movie will eventually end up on Sky Cinema.

Just make sure that the little ones are in bed when you watch this film, its not your typical Superhero movie such has Superman, Spiderman etc.

Highly Recommended (9 out 10) can't wait for the sequel. Smiley Very Happy

@schnapps

Yeah Deadpool was good, @caseyb1993 could talk about it all day with you. Whilst I enjoyed all the humour and the third-wall breaking, I did think it lacked a bit of substance to the story and the set pieces, the final confrontation in particular was a bit on the underwhelming side. But that's always the problem with origin stories, I'm not that much of a fan of movies telling the origin stories as it often gets in the way (especially when you keep getting new origin stories every few years like Batman and Spider-Man!) but now it's out of the way I'm looking forward to an original Deadpool 2!

@schnapps Oh yes, the whole breaking the 4th wall was genius 🙂

I do agree there @Andy, the origin story was a tad too long but it added to the awesomeness 😄

Oh great, now Careless Whispers is in my head. 😄

@caseyb1993 O yeah, its fourth wall not third wall! 😄 Mind you, I doubt any of the theatres around here are posh enough for backdrops, last time I went they had no seats and we took rotten tomatoes to throw at half time.

Back to the topic of movies on NOW TV if you like cheesy slasher horror (and I know you do) check out Stage Fright 2014 its Glee meets Scream which sums up exactly what you are getting and it's a fun watch if you want a forgettable, predictable, popcorn horror night in - plus it's got Meat Loaf so what more could you ask for.

@Andy That sounds good, I'll add it to my watchlist 😉

Just looking at the 80s greats list.  No "Breakfast Club"  no "Heathers" no "Never Ending Story"  no "Dead Poets Society"  and probably several other omissions.

Please take a moment to click thanks or marked as solution if this answered your question. I am a community contributor and pop on when I can.

I would recommend the chiller Don't Blink to anyone who likes horror films set in a cabin in the woods.  Ignore that one-star rating!

Into The Forest is a decent low-key, intimate take on the collapse-of-civilisation genre.

(Not to be confused with Into The Woods!)

If anyone wants a comedy that makes them feel sick, I recommend Grimsby.

You'll see why... Smiley Indifferent Cat Surprised

And there is The Revenant as well if you are into animals, so to speak 🙂

Superb movie in the cinema, the bigger and better the screen the more impressive. Not sure it will be quite as good on my 32" HD ready.

I watched "Freezer" last night. It deserves an extra star than the 2 that it has.

So let it have 3. 🙂

If anybody wants a good laugh then I recommend two movies. If you don't like bad language or "nasty stuff", then don't bother. 😄

1) Team America: World Police.

Basically an adult Thunderbirds parody. 🙂

2) Sausage Party.

Basically an adult Disney/Pixar parody. 🙂

And any over 18s not easily offended (in fact make it not offended in the slightest) who enjoy horror films, give The Greasy Strangler a go, it's a black comedy horror high on gross-out scenes, light on horror, full of 'I can't believe I've just seen  that' moments, an unforgettable hour and a half! Once seen, never un-seen!

@caseyb1993 As promised I gave Sausage Party a go. I nearly turned it off in the first 5 mins when they burst into song as I groaned '*%^^% it's a chuffing musical like all the Disney films' but luckily once the song was over it was fine! There were some very funny gags in it, and I quite enjoyed it but I'm afraid I'm still not converted to animation films, I just can't get into them properly (I've still got hopes that Beauty and the Beast live-action will win me over to musical films tho, here's hoping it's very Pan's Labyringth-y).

I'm not the only one to find the shape of the buns, together with the positioning of the lipstick and the fact they are talking rather disturbing am I? We all know what they were trying to convey, but they did it a little too well I reckon! 😄

@Andy Ooooppps, did I forget to mention the song?? 😉

Yeah, Brenda the bun is quite creepy. For me, it's the eyes. 😮

Beauty and the Beast 2017 was a great adaptation! It didn't wow me like I thought it would have with all the excitement but I will still add it to my collection. 🙂

Enjoyed Let's Be Evil on NOW TV, ignore the 1 star it has, it's about 50% on IMDb and I'd say that's about right.

basically a 21st century Village of the Damned, creepy genius kids in top-secret bunker in unknown experiment. Fancy a load of money for the job of being locked up in there supervising them? Well 3 young adults do and not surprisingly things don't go according to plan ...

It's lightweight sci-fi turned horror fluff, but it's entertaining fluff and at only 1 hr 20 it's a nice easy watch.

Surprised neither seem to have been mentioned here but Cloverfield (cert 15) and 10 Cloverfield Lane (cert 12) are must watch movies.  Very diifferent movies that could be watched separately with little connection between them but both have  thrills aplenty. Suitable for teenagers upwards.  Classic old style film making, Cloverfield apeing King Kong (sorry couldn't resist) and 10 Cloverfield Place with a nod towards Hitchcock.
