What is Chromecast??

I can't understand, and can't seem to find a simple answer, as to what Chromecast is and the benefit to me. All I can see is that it's an extra device (looking at the board this seems to be a big issue, however, this is not what I am asking about).

I have two set top boxes with remote controls and a search facility, what am I missing? Why would I need to add this to my account?

Welcome to the forum.

You don't need a Chromecast to use your NOW TV account, if you are happy with your NOW TV boxes then carry on using them. A Chromecast is just another device that can be used to watch NOW TV on. The main advantage is it's a more portable device that plugs straight into a HDMI port and is easier to move from one TV to another. It also has a wider range of apps on it than a NOW TV box, so for instance it can be used to watch Netflix and Amazon Video on as well.
