Chromecast no longer working with NowTV app on either iPhone or iPad

Hi NOW TV,

 

Until recently we had no problems casting NOW TV via any of our devices.

 

For about a week now NOW TV no longer casts to our TV. We've tried resetting the Chromecast, turning the TV off and on again, and re-starting the app and re-starting both the iPhone and iPad.

 

The symptoms are... We click on the cast Icon, and it connects. We see an advertising screen or the "4 rotating bobbles" loading icon.

 

Upon pressing play on the App the title and episode etc appears for a brief second alongside "Now Casting" and then....

 

It goes straight back to the ad/four bobbles. 

 

The Chromecast works perfectly fine with BBC iPlayer, YouTube and Netflix. When we go back into the NOW TV App, we have the same issue. We also downloaded the latest updates for the NOW TV App but this hasn't resolved the issue (although, IIRC correctly, before the update we got stuck on "the 4 bobbles" and since we get stuck on the Ad with the very short display of the title/episode before it reverts to the ad).

 

If we can't get a resolution here we'll have to cancel our NOW TV subscription. Is there any way to solve this issue ?

Hi. To fix this issue, close NOW TV app on iPhone, close Google Home app , turn off and on your router/hub see if that fixes issue but if not wait until 26/02/18 how NOW TV will have there on stick.

I am having the exact same problem.  Have tried all the suggestions but it's still not working!!!

I'm having the exact issue, have Google /sky withdrawn support for Chromecast in favour of the widely advertised now TV stick? If so then bye bye now TV hello Google play

I’m also having the very same issue from iPhone. The 4 coloured bobbles appear momentarily and then the display switches to the now TV advertising screen with “Now TV Ready to cast” appearing on the top left corner. Any help appreciated. Thank you

@Anonymous User apologies for the late reply. Someone else yesterday mentioned the same problem with an apple product when casting.

If more people start reporting a similar problem it may be an error at now TV's end. In the mean time, try disconnecting the Chromecast from the power for a minute and if the problem persists maybe try a fresh install of the app.
