Where do I order a new grey wire

We really need to know what the "grey wire" is/was doing. It's probably the DSL cable, but we need to know for sure before advising you.

None of us work for NOW as we are just customers like you, so all we can do is point you in the right direction like @Jayach is trying to do but can’t based on your post.

According to the help pages the grey cable is a DSL, or RJ11. What's the problem with it? You could ask the broadband support team by calling 0330 041 2518. Alternatively, just buy a new one, they are widely and cheaply available online.
