is my e-mail from NOW a real one or scam?

Hi

I have received an e-mail which is supposedly from NOW. It tells me that I have added a new device (I haven't), and if it wasn't me I should go to a site (it provides a link), where I can remove the device and must change my password. I am pretty sure it is a scam, but if it is I would have expected to find other instances when doing a web search on subjects such as "email scam from NOW". But nothing relevant is shown. Has anyone else received such an e-mail recently?

Hi @IanW

Sounds like a new scam to me, where you can't currently remove devices from your Device list on your NOW account, where this needs to be done by NOW live chat.

Perhaps drop NOW an email with all the relevant details you have about this supposed NOW email for them to confirm either way and to let them investigate this further if it is found out to be some sort of scam.

Use the email address from the screen shot below to contact NOW directly.

Hi @IanW

I haven't seen this type of worded email either currently reported on the NOW Community Forum or over on NOW Twitter Help.

Perhaps @Simon-J The NOW Community Manager can look into this on your behalf to confirm it's a scam or not ?

Plus it might help other NOW customers who come across this email in the future @Simon-J

In my email client, I can tap the apparent From address, and it will reveal the actual email address that has been used.

If yours can do that, you could see what it reveals. Also be on the alert for tricks like using N0WTV.COM…

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it. Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now. That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
