Useless customer service chat - can't access my old account

So after trying countless times to log in to my old account so I can reactivate (and delete this account on an old, to be deleted, email address), I tried the chat. Only for them to respond once every 5 minutes with a 'do you want me to send you the reset link'.

 

1 hour later and they expect me to remember an old credit card number and then tell me that they can no longer help. 1 hour sat at a computer on my day off for absolutely nothing!

 

So I have an old account I want to reuse on an email address I am keeping (and deleting my current email). But I cannot log in as the password reset says the address is not recognised, but if I go to create a new one it says an account already exists with this address. 

 

Can someone help, this is driving me insane!
