Now Boost charges

I have just realised that I have been charged since February 2022 for Now Boost, to which I have never subscribed and which is of no use to me anyway. I have only just noticed tonight when doing an in depth search through my bank statements for something else.
I have had nothing from Now TV to say that I am being charged for this and do not, and never have, wanted this. I have never even had anything from Now TV to tell me that the fee went up on March 2023.
Looking at the Community Forum, this has happened to many people without their knowledge.

I want a refund of 13 months at £5, plus 1 month at £6 - total £71.

I have tried to do this through the Chat Bot, but it is useless and does not allow me to ask for this refund.

How do I get my money back?

@cathtcrt

If you took out a membership last year from the offers section then they would have included a free trial of boost then £5 unless cancelled.

If I were you put a payment PIN on your account to prevent anything new being activated on your account.

Since you’ve seen it across the forum you’ll have seen many threads where NO staff jump on to saying I’ll PM you to get this sorted. You must do this yourself via live chat or emailing support.

Live chat is accessed by clicking “chat online” within the green box, don’t hit “get help quicker” as this is a bot.

Thank you, but I did not take out a new membership - I have been with them for years so had no free trial. The bot only refunds me for 1 month, not for the full amount. x

@cathtcrt Don’t hit “get help quicker” that’s the bot. You need to click “chat online” within the green box.

Otherwise email support

I see you often give the good advice to set a Payment PIN, which is a good thing for all sorts of reasons, but I’d bet you a pound to a penny that this won’t prevent a Boost trial turning into a paid subscription 😢

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.

Hi did you get a solution and your money back? I have just used the live chat with the most unprofessional and unhelpful agent.
