Issues with Moving Country

I have recently moved from Northern Ireland to Ireland  

My GB account can't be used in IE so I therefore need to set up a new account. 

I was told by an advisor that I just need to set up an account on the IE site and can use the same email address.

When I try and do this I get an error message saying the email address is already in use . I then get prompted to sign in and get brought to the GB site and get an error message essentially saying account can't be used as I'm not in GB. 

Is it possible to delete previous accounts?
