Initial £5 payment for Broadband

Hi ,

I'm trying to pay the initial £5 for 1y. broadband deal.

When get to payment its looking for banking app approval for the transaction(metro bank) and when I open the app the approval is for £1 only , which I did and payment is now pending.

At the same time in the browser page payment has been declined .Tried twice with no luck.

Do not want to use other card for payment

Any help????

Thank

It looks like an issue you should be taking up with Metro Bank, rather than NOW.

Outside of what @redchiz1  said have you tried another browser or deleting the cookies?

You could try calling the broadband team.

NOW Broadband Members can call us 8am–8pm, 7 days a week.

FYI that I do not work for NOW, just a NOW customer trying to help

What sort of card are you using? It needs to be a debit or credit card, not the sort of card that you load money onto.

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it. Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now. That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.

Also, I note that the Cash Account accepts Standing Orders, but does not allow Direct Debits.

Now actually use CPAs (Continuous Payment Authorities), which are not Direct Debits, but are more like them (variable amounts, any time the payee feels like charging them) than Standing Orders (fixed amounts, fixed dates, payer discretion).

Metro Bank is entirely silent on the matter of CPAs, as far as I can tell; but if they don’t accept these, then no Now payment scheme can be set up with them.

You should perhaps ask Metro Bank if your attempted transaction here has fallen foul of such an issue.
