Device Issues

I think it will be very sensible to include an option to add and remove devices on an account. Its so annoying that I am paying for Nowtv and can't watch it because my account is logged on a device I can't access.

I cant even find an option to close my account.

This is a criminal behaviour by the app

You don’t need to register a device to watch NOW content with, all you need to do is log in and watch.

If you and someone else is watching content on separate devices you’ll need boost to watch on more than 1 device.

If you want to remove any devices just pop onto live chat and request this. Just make sure you click “chat online” within the green box and not “get help quicker” as this is a bot.

On the other hand if someone is using your account, I’d change your password and put a payment PIN on it.

That being said if your still truly unhappy and want to close your account you need to send an email to support. Address is in the below picture.

FYI that I do not work for NOW, just a NOW customer trying to help

To amplify what @gavs82008 has said, there are four sets of circumstances you could be in, and it would be helpful if you could clarify which.

But the first thing to know is that whatever the list of devices shows, it doesn’t affect what you, or anybody else with access to your account, can or cannot do.

This used to be the case, but is no longer; it is now just a dynamic list of the most recent six devices to have used your account (with certain adjustments aimed at preserving devices with downloads on in favour of devices that haven’t). And there may even be devices which still have access that aren’t on the list, though they will come back and push other devices off the list if they are used.

However, while the new arrangement is certainly an improvement, many of us would like to be able to maintain the device details for ourselves, replacing generic details with specific ones, and deleting devices we don’t want there. (Something I would like to see requiring those devices which the account owner specifically removes to log back in if they return).

So, the four possibilities are:-

(i) You would just like to maintain the device details for yourself;

(ii) You don’t have Boost, and you are finding that you can’t move from Now on one device to Now on another without at least a ten minute wait;
(For which the fix is to ensure that you actively stop watching on the first device by exiting the programme, rather than just exiting the app or switching away from it. Stop cleanly, and you don’t even have to exit the app, though you can, after that, if you want to).

(iii) You don’t have Boost, and you have more than one consensual user on your account;

(In which case, you will have to take it in turns, stopping as under (ii), or buy Boost, so you can have up to three users at once).

(iv) You have a non-consensual user on your account, possibly someone unknown, who you would like removed;

(You should change your password and do all the other good things @gavs82008 suggests, and though you ought to be able to remove all other users as an optional step during password changing, it doesn’t work at present, and you will need to ask Now to do this for you, on Live Chat).

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
