Whatever you do do not cancel, unless you are moving to virgin media.
You need to migrate the service, sign up to the new provider and they will deal with the cancellation aspect, this is called migration.
The cancel option is called cease and re provide and can have lengthly downtime, plus the risk of the cabinet being full meaning that you will be on substantially slower speeds
