Buffering and picture freezing

Set up my now tv smart box on Friday, so far I've not been able to watch anything the picture quality is that poor. I've tried all the turning on and off and factory restore, anyone any other ideas ?

Hi and welcome to the forum,

 

Sorry to hear you're having problems. In order to help you, can you please provide the following information: -

  • What's your NOW TV playback devices 'software' version and NOW TV 'app' version?
  • Is your NOW TV playback device 'directly' connected to your television or is it connected through a surround-sound amplifier or HDMI switch?
  • Which NOW TV packages have you subscribed to (ie: Entertainment, Cinema, Kids, Sport)?
  • How is your NOW TV playback device connected to the internet. Is it via a hard-wired or wireless (WiFi) ethernet connection?
  • Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)?
  • Are you running any form of VPN (Virtual Private Network)?
  • Have you tried re-booting your router (by disconnecting the power, waiting 30 seconds and reconnecting the power)?

Sufficed to say, the more detailed information you are able to provide, the easier it will be for us NOW TV forum members and/or a NOW TV Team member to work out a solution for you!

Hi.
It's a now smart box, not using an app. It's connected direct into the telephone and connected to WiFi by cable. I have virgin Internet with a down load speed of 62mbs. I have no von and yes I have tried rebooting and factory reset. Thanks

Thanks for that information, when you say its connected directly into the telephone..what do you mean by that ? The NOW TV Smart Box doesn't have any telephone inputs so i'm confused.

 

Would you also be able to let us know who your Internet provider is as well ?
